The local accounting firm of Blackman & Sloop, CPAs, P.A. is pleased to announce the addition of Leah Wells and Yusif Al-yemeni to their professional team.

Wells joins the firm as a staff accountant serving in the Tax Department. She is currently in pursuit of her CPA designation. A recent college graduate, Al-yemeni joins the Blackman & Sloop team as an audit associate. In this capacity, he is responsible for performing audits of firm financials, reconciling accounts, and inquiring into and using judgement regarding the reasonableness of assertions.

A 2020 graduate of North Carolina State University, Wells holds a Master of Accounting degree. She also attended Indiana University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business in 2013. She is currently affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the North Carolina Association of CPAs (NCACPA), and the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA). Raised in Galesburg, Michigan, Wells now lives in Carrboro, North Carolina.

Al-yemeni earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from East Carolina University. He went on to attend North Carolina State University, graduating with a Master of Accounting in Information Technology in 2020. He holds memberships in the AICPA, the NCACPA, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). Al-yemeni currently lives in Apex, North Carolina with his wife, Laura, and their child, Sami.
