New Summer Intern
Rachel Farmer joined the firm on May 16th as our summer intern. She will spend the summer learning the ropes in taxation, audit, and business services.

Blackman & Sloop was recently chosen as a “Best in Class” firm by BDO Alliance USA! We are thrilled to be recognized for the work we’re doing at our firm and the amazing team we have developed. We are also grateful for our partnership with BDO Alliance USA!!
Andrea Woodell Eason Speaks at BDO Conference
In May, Andrea Woodell Eason and Deetra Watson attended the BDO Conference in Las Vegas. Andrea was a guest panel speaker, where she spoke on “ways to drive profitability through client relationships.”
Firm Workshops: Spin Selling and Firm Messaging
Amanda Garner from the Growth Partnership visited Blackman & Sloop in April and presented workshops on Spin Selling and Firm Messaging.
V Foundation for Cancer Research – Victory Ride to Cure Cancer
On May 16th the team at Blackman & Sloop held a spaghetti lunch to raise money for staff members, Katie Ledford and Elizabeth Mauch, who participated in the Victory Ride to Cure Cancer, benefiting the V Foundation for Cancer Research. They represented Blackman & Sloop by biking 30 miles in the event on May 19th.
Fond Farwell
We sadly said goodbye to Ben Fulton, who is heading to Germany with his wife, Emilie. Emilie is joining a research team of theoretical physicists at the University of Wurzburg.
Exciting Destinations
Candy Kirby and Sue Cannon took a much deserved post-tax season vacation on an Alaskan cruise and had a fabulous time!
Office Happenings
Our former intern and new hire, Gabby (Eagle) Gaudette got married on May 5th. Congratulations Gabby! Gabby starts full-time at Blackman & Sloop on June 11th.
On May 21st, Ben Johnson welcomed a baby boy, Julian Alexander, weighing 7 pounds and 2 oz. Mother and baby are doing great! Congrats to Ben and family!!
