Susan Puryear has been a member of the firm for five years and works as an administrative associate.  

What makes Blackman & Sloop a great place for women to work? I am surrounded by so many successful women at this firm and that inspires me every day. We have several female partners and each day they provide: Andrea’s daily affirmation emails, Robin’s smile when she walks through the door and says, “Hi”, Deetra’s praise for being part of the team, and Carla’s quick responses and offering to help. When you have those interactions on a daily basis, it flows into your work ethic and attitude. The female leaders in our firm are women who I look up to on a daily basis. They inspire me to do my best, because they believe I can be the best.

What is your role at the firm? I’m not an accountant, but I like to think of myself as an ambassador for Blackman & Sloop.

Why do you love working at Blackman & Sloop? I love working here because I’m not just an employee of the firm. Each team member is an asset and from day one you are treated like you are part of the family. We are not a team because we work together. We are a team because we respect, trust, and care for each other.
